Meet Dr. John Frey.

Dr. Frey has spent his whole life in northeast Grand Rapids. He studied at Grand Rapids Junior College and Grand Valley State University, then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan in 1996. He opened Frey Family Dentistry the following year. He has been caring for the same community ever since – in many cases, for the same families.

Dr. Frey has served as president of the West Michigan District Dental Society and chaired the Michigan Dental Association's Annual Session. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, an honor his peers nominated him for. He donates care through the Donated Dental Services program of West Michigan and has answered viewers' questions many times on WGVU's Ask the Dentist.

For more than twenty years Dr. Frey has sung with the Opera Grand Rapids chorus, and for years he has opened the Michigan Dental Association's House of Delegates with the National Anthem. He also accompanies the West Catholic High School choir on piano. Patients sometimes catch him humming.

Dr. Frey lives in northeast Grand Rapids with his wife Lisa. They have three children.
